I've lost count at this point how many lobbyists on the John McCain team have quit/been fired/resigned. There were a bunch of them last week. There is another story today, this time it's a national finance a co-chair who lobbys for a foreign government resigning.
Mitt Romney tried to bring up the McCain lobbyist issue during the GOP primary but the press thought making an issue of the unpaid advisors on Romney's campaign was a bigger story.
I don't get those people in the MSM, I really don't.
Do you think that they are sitting on all kinds of stories? Is it a business calculation, that they just wait to release a story when they think it will sell more papers? Like that bogus one about the woman lobbyist the NYT sat on for 2 months, until after McCain was the nominee?
You'd think that if they were really interested in maintaining the public trust they'd not play these games.
Then, you can think of what kind of stories about Obama or Hillary they are waiting to release until they're the Democrat nominee. Yes, it does go both ways. Maybe not as often because the MSM is pretty liberal. But you never know. Obama's racist pastor/spiritual advisor Jeremiah Wright was a known weakness in Obama's story, they waited over a year to report on it. Who knows what else is in the MSM files, just waiting till it will sell more papers and TV advertising???
Is the MSM not doing their job, or are they really just more concerned with making money than giving people the truth?

Oh the media is doing their job, and doing a fine job of it. Remember, there will be 1 Billion dollars spent on this presidential campaign, and almost all of it on big media buys, so the media conglomerates are making money hand over fist. The premise of your post is then fundamentally wrong: you think it is their "job" to help us pick a "good" president. Nope. It's ratings and money, and the power that money buys. That's why bland, scandal free figures like Mitt Romney were shooed aside for much less qualified and more story rich alternatives. Sorry to burst your bubble.
McCain is a total whore. In Arizona he openly sells influence and outcomes for contributions. You probable saw this in the NYTimes cover story last week. The WaPo had a similar story recently-McCain was helping deliver old Fort Ord to his developer friends.
