Bellevue, Ia. - Three of the five sons of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney dipped their bike tires in the Mississippi River shortly before noon Saturday after they biked the final day of RAGBRAI together.
This story typifies the type of involvement that has endeared Mitt to Iowans. As I've said before, we lived in Iowa for five years. We moved to NY only one year ago. Hopefully, he'll find his way to New York in the future.
Many friends of mine participated in RAGBRAI. In case you're wondering, RAGBRAI is an acronym for Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. It's a non-competitive bicycle ride across the entire state from the Missouri River on the west to the Mississippi on the east during the last week of July.

Like any good politicians touring Iowa, the brothers stopped along the route for pie. Matt went for cherry, Josh wanted blueberry but settled for cherry, and Craig went for strawberry-rhubarb. They chatted with riders and sported matching T-shirts with their names and '08 printed on the back.
On Friday night, they drove their Five Brothers campaign trailer, decorated with red check marks for each Iowa county they've visited so far, and included the Field of Dreams in Dyersville. They tossed around a few balls in the outfield, said brother Matt, who sells real estate in San Diego.
