Indeed, a troubling Rudy quote from June of 1994:
"Some of the hardest-working and most productive people in this city are undocumented aliens. If you come here and you work hard, and you happen to be in an undocumented status, you're one of the people who we want in this city. You're somebody that we want to protect..."
Rudy was quoted as saying he believes not offering benefits to illegals is against the 5th Ammendment. Such denial is discrimination based on immigration status, he says. What?! That's exactly what we're talking about!
So, this is where Rudy was in the 1990s. He was pro-illegal, and called others "unenlightened" who opposed illegal immigration.
