The Buzz: Mitt Romney isn’t the only flip-flopper

Read this story at the Kansas City Star. Quotes below:

Hey, Mr. Trampolinemen

Mitt Romney isn’t the only guy pulling off the 180-degree flip-flop with a half-twist.

After a decade of public support for a sea treaty, John McCain has pivoted to get in line with the other candidates. He’s also against citizenship for children of illegal immigrants who go to college or join the armed services, despite having co-sponsored the idea.

Having not ruled out raising taxes to help shore up Social Security, Rudy Giuliani was heavily lobbied by the Club for Growth. Now he says: “I would rule out a tax increase for that purpose or for any other purpose.” He is also repudiating his past support for the McCain-Feingold campaign reform bill.

They may consider Fred already out of the race (as we do), and therefore failed to mention his flips and flops.

So, here we have it: all the candidates have changed positions or flip-flopped. However, Mitt has done the fewest and has gone in the proper direction (effectively pro-choice to solidly pro-life) with his position changes.
