Nancy French at Evangelicals for Mitt has organized this to get gifts to everyone in her husband's squadron. David French is stationed in Iraq.
Prior to heading over there this fall, David posted outstanding messages to the EFM site in defense of Mitt from an evangelical's point of view. This is a wonderful cause.
This is Nancy's update on the program:
Greetings from Paris, Tennessee: Home of the World's Biggest Fish Fry and... me!
I just wanted to thank all of you who have responded to the request to fill boxes for David's Sabre Squadron. We got such a generous response, we realized we needed to get more organized. To begin with, we changed the name to be a tad more explanatory: Operation Send-a-Box.
Secondly, we set up our new website, hosted graciously on SixSeeds -- a great place to learn about how your family can serve those in need. Browse that organization's website... it's run my dear friends of ours. Check out Send-a-Box to see a new photo of David, his roommates (the two guys on the bottom), and more detailed description of the process.
Thanks to all of you. If you want to be an "area coordinator" (committing to 25 boxes), e-mail me. Already, we have 575 boxes committed, so we're amazingly half way done. Keep the e-mails coming!I've explained before that two of my brothers have served in Iraq. One is at home with his wonderful family for few more weeks before he returns.
Do what you can for these soldiers who don't have the chance to share these times with their loved ones.
