That new Spanish language ad that Nealie Ride wrote up earlier deserves a little extra commentary. It's one of the best Spanish ads I've ever seen. Craig learned to speak that excellent Spanish while he was living in Chile for 2 years (I wish my accent was half a good as his.) Now Craig lives in New York where he works in the advertising industry. He and his family have to be considered the original New Yorkers for Mitt.
Back to the ad. It's powerful. Particularly with Hispanic families. Romney's family values message resonates so deeply in this culture. It's sad to say, but judging by shows that get the highest ratings, the ideal family situation of loving parents and harmony in the home doesn't draw the audiences it used to. Nowadays on broadcast TV it's all dysfunctional family, all the time.
Yet in Hispanic communities, the "Leave it to Beaver" model that the Romney family displays is still held up as an ideal, and this ad hit the mark.
