As good as things are starting to look for Romney, it's sobering to think that about 30% of the votes have already been cast as absentee. That means polls from the last several weeks probably ought to blend away the edges of these new ones. (BTW, what happens to people who voted Fred as absentee? No redos?)

Luckily, there are several days left (and a debate) to widen Romney's lead significantly enough to overtake any absentee advantage Giuliani may have had.

Your comment made me feel, for a second, like I did in November and December 2000....oh, and I was rooting for Gore back then, so that second made me even more queasy than you might think...lol

By the way, absentee votes for Rudy are not absentee votes for McCain, so...be careful what you wish for!

Just because Mitt was not actively campaigning in Florida, his people were working to get out the vote -- and a large chuck of his people come from team Jeb Bush who know how to identify voters and get them to the polls (they have early voting in the Sunshine State) -- or get them absentee ballots to vote for Mitt.
