Huckabee's hypocrisy

I've been reluctant to criticize Huckabee's character. After all, it's rash cynicism that has led the media and pundits to dismissively exaggerate Romney's minor mis-steps all along. And, really, now that Iowa is over, it's more or less a moot point. He's got nowhere to go.

But there's something about the injustice of him getting away with it that really irks me, so I have to post about it anyway.

Huckabee said "it’s never too late to do the right thing" when he decided not to show his attack ad. But, of course, it was shown anyway at least three times (according to factcheck.org), shown freely by the media and online, was filled with misrepresentations, and Huckabee has never taken the “never too late” stance in regard to Romney’s position on abortion.

The long and the short of it: Huckabee is a hypocrite who won with identity politics.

He’s probably a nice guy. Just no match for Romney’s executive skills. Romney is right for America, and those who have been so quick to judge him ought to slow down and get more of the story.
