Tomorrow's Nomination Contests and Some Predictions

McCain or The Huckster will win South Carolina. Romney will win Nevada. Florida is the gatekeeper to the nomination, not South Carolina.

I'm predicting Romney's margins in Nevada will be stellar, tho not as huge as in Wyoming. And like Coach said, the media will do everything they can to not recognize it.

Here's the best possible result for Romney in the SC race:

1) Huck
2) McCain
3) Romney
4) Thompson

Thompson getting 4th in SC effectively stops his campaign. Smart pundits will note that Romney and Thompson split a voter block and that their total combined is larger than the SC winner's. Look for exit polls on who voter's second choice was. Huckabee's win blunts McCain's momentum going to Florida where it will be a Romney vs. Rudy showdown.

4Q financials will be leaking that emphasize Huckabee and McCain's uncompetitive positions, and Romney's strength. The "money primary" may well have more serious consequences than the actual voting.

My dream come true would be Thompson and Romney announcing a conservative alliance, thus creating a ticket for Feb 5 that sweeps 90% of the contests.
