I have to brag for just a second. I totally called how the press would respond to Mitt's Michigan smack-down. I anticipated that the press would deliberate away all the many reasons his win was nothing worth mention: his native son status, the time and money spent there exceeded rivals, etc.
Well, I'm here to tell you what's going to happen tomorrow.
McCain will win South Carolina, with Huckabee a not-too-distant-second, and Mitt will win Nevada BIG TIME. However, despite that Nevada is worth more delegates and Mitt will win his state by a MUCH wider margin, Mitt's win will be mentioned in the second-to last paragraph of most articles praising McCain's new status as undeniable front runner. When they mention his win at all, the media will attribute it to the other candidates not campaigning in Nevada much, to the "high" Mormon population in Nevada, and to... well, ANYTHING except that he has the broadest appeal and is the best candidate (the real reasons).
It turns out the things that get me riled enough to post are usually associated with a disingenuous press. Luckily, surprise after surprise, Mitt has continued to win anyway.
