Winning the General, from Karl Rove

You know that Mitt Romney is going to win the nomination. However, the media has been promoting the idea that there is going to be a Democrat victory in the general. Karl Rove at the RNC winter meeting puts that idea to rest.

He lays out the bullet points of how we beat Clinton or Obama. Edwards isn't going to be the nominee, so Rove didn't even mention him. I don't even think he'll get the VP slot, personally. Edwards has become a non-factor in this year's contest.

  • On Clinton: Rove said the senator talks about fiscal responsibility but has introduced “$800 billion in new spending and the campaign is less than half over.” ALSO key: “You know, Sen. Clinton [has] got a problem with giving straight answers in this campaign,” Rove said.
  • On Obama: Rove made it clear that most Republican attacks on Obama would focus on his “accomplishments and experience.” Rove also said that nonpartisan ratings show that Obama is more liberal than Clinton, which he said is “pretty hard to do.”
Don't worry about winning the general, the Democrats being propped up by the media are not going to be as tough to beat as you think.
