Bad Jobs Report Today, First Loss Since 2003

Today's job report came in with the country losing jobs, for the first time since 2003. The Democrats are all over this, trying to pin it on Republicans in Washington (that would include McCain) and hoping they can distract from their own failures and lack of economic leadership.

After McCain's "lost in the woods" stream of consciousness rambling on the economy at the last debate, I don't think we're going to see any good counter to democrat's attacks from him.

I don't want to make too much out of this jobs report, obviously the stock market today isn't sending wall street traders panicking. Actually the DJIA might have dropped 100 points or more, but the market is buttressed by a huge M&A move with Microsoft offering to buy Yahoo for $45 billion.

Regardless, tough news on the economy is going to make more people look for a turnaround pro. Mitt Romney is the guy they should turn to.

I would add this to the pile of reasons why, if McCain does get the nomination, he should make Romney the VP pick.
