Time to divulge a bit of personal info. I post here because Nealie Ride sent me an invitation and I was happy to have a place. My only claim to NY was from a bus trip across the country to marry my wife (she was in Boston). The route went through NYC. So, I spent a wonderful 4 hours from 1am-5am in the terminal of a Greyhound station in NYC. (Crazy things you do for love...).
I currently live in Colorado. Last evening I went the caucus and voted for Mitt. Our precinct location was about 7 minutes from our home at a middle school. My wife and I dropped off our kids at a friend’s house and picked up two other people; it was a regular Mitt mobile. We happily went caucusing while listening to Hugh Hewitt on the radio (by far my favorite talk show host, not only for views but because he is entertaining). What should have been no more than a 15 minute drive soon became 40 as the streets were crammed with cars trying to get to the caucus. Once we got to the school parking lot it was clear that there were no spots. The school is in a residential area with lots of houses, thus, normally, empty side streets. We drove for another 20 minutes looking for any place to park. Even the fire hydrants were parked in front of. Finally we turned to knocking on doors trying to see if someone would mind us parking in their driveway; after about a half dozen houses we found someone to let us.
Our precinct seemed representative of Colorado which was heavily pro Mitt. There were a couple of Paulians there (hard to miss them). Our district went for Mitt about 5:1 which was a little stronger than the state average.
From what it looked like, the DNC turnout was equally impressive. Sad thing that it didn’t go our way last night on a national scale (What happened in California?). Also sad is that I saw this morning that Colorado has been written off because it was just a caucus. That was not just a caucus last night. From what I saw, most anyone who would have voted in a normal election went; and we met as neighbors. Last night true representative government happened in Colorado. It was a sight to behold. Civics are strong and well here. I believe that anyone who caucused last evening was enriched by doing it as a community much more so than the average joe just going to a voting booth.

Word has it that that was voter suppression in Southern California (I live in Northern California).
Republicans were showing up and being told that they were not registered as Republicans so they couldn't vote for the Presidential candidates.
I think there was some fraud going on in Florida, too.
Funny, both governors endorsed McCain. I don't want to get all conspiracy theory about this, but it does seem curious that with both states Mitt was up in the polls before the vote and then there was voter fraud.
I can not believe what I just read! The very same thing happened to myself and my husband when we went to vote - at different times of the day! They told me to vote Democrat, and filled out a green card (instead of orange). I insisted that they allow me to see my name and designation...and that the green card they filled out be destroyed. I patiently explained that the letters REP next to my name, entitled me to vote Republican! Then, I called 311 and reported the incident. To my surprise, 5 hours later, my husband came home with the very same tale. What is happening?
