John McCain’s best running mate would be Mitt Romney (or a Romney endorsed candidate) and a closer analysis of the primary results below show why.
Romney, not Huckabee, shores up McCain’s two vulnerabilities: his admitted lack of knowledge about economics and business as well as his age, a concern to many.

Personally, I think Mitt is too good for McCain.
But, this is just one of many stories floating out there about McCain choosing Romney as his running mate. What do you think??
The question is -- should Mitt accept, if offered, the VP part of the ticket with McCain?
Would a McCain/Romney ticket "unite" the party and bring out the vote??
Or should Mitt wait for 2012?

Mitt should not associate with liberal Mac Cain. Mitt represent the conservative values, he should wait for 2012.
Brokered Convention = Mitt Romney decides after we have a discussion about what it means to be a Republican.
1) Republican Brokered Conventions result in wins!
Abraham Lincoln – 3rd Ballot - Won Presidency
Rutherford Hayes – 7th Ballot - Won Presidency
James Garfield - 36th Ballot - Won Presidency
Warning Harding – 10th Ballot – Won Presidency
Dwight D. Eisenhower – “2nd Ballot” – Won Presidency
2) A Brokered Convention gives conservatives a voice. A Brokered Convention gives Mitt Romney a voice. A Brokered Convention keeps media attention on the Republican party for the next 6 months for free! If we just roll over and go to sleep the media will almost solely focus on the Democratic contest.
3) McCain has to win 467 more delegates (44% of remaining delegates) to secure the nomination. Huckabee needs 639 delegates (57% of remaining delegates) to force a Brokered Convention.
4) On Super Tuesday McCain got 42% of the vote in Blue States and only 26% in Red States. Over 60% of McCain’s delegates have come from Blue States. Do we really want our candidate picked by States that we have very little chance of winning in the Fall?
5) 71% of the remaining delegates are from Red States. If we unite we can force this to a Brokered Convention.
6) During the 10 days leading up to Super Tuesday, Mitt asked Huckabee to drop out and for conservatives to unite behind him. The Golden Rule asks for “you to do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” For the sake of conservatives please support a Brokered Convention and encourage your supporters to back Huckabee. All of the Moderate and Liberal Republicans that have dropped out have endorsed McCain. Please gather the courage to rally your supporters to the conservative cause to push this to a Brokered Convention.
7) Conservatives Unite! There is still time! Win the Red States and we go to the convention for a discussion about what it means to be a Republican.
Hope this brings encouragement and hope. It is not over!

1 Conservative Place,
I hate to break it to you, Mike Huckabee knows very little about what it means to be a rebublican. You will find it very hard to convince Romney supporters (expecially those of us who are LDS) to support this man after the manner of campaign he ran and the way in which he invoked the name and image of our savior for his own political gain. Besides, Mitt got out of the race precisely to avoid prolonging the commencement of a national campaign for our party during a time of war. Do you think our loyalties to him are so weak as to render moot his selfless sacrifice, epecially to back someone who used the fear of a "satan-worshiper in office" to rally millions of otherwise well intentioned voters behind a candidate who is inferior in virtually every way? I don't think so. When you refuse to support someone because of his religious beliefs (not necessarily you, but hundreds of thousands of other huck supporters), then you should not be suprised if his supporters laugh in you face whenever you solicit their support (in vain). Sorry, Huck has proven that he is no man of integrity, nor a competent leader. Why do you think he averaged 7% of the non-evangelicals in the primaries, even the states he won?
iz - Well said and I agree with you (and am not LDS), but a Romney supporter. I would NEVER vote for Huckabee. By Huckabee bringing religion into the campaign is disgraceful.
Huckabee told CNN that the only reason he is staying in the race is so he can walk into the convention with more delegates than "the rich man". How Christian is this? Or Republican?
I continue to support Mitt and will do a "write-in".
