Can you imagine the Republicans in this mess?

I'm watching this Democrat fiasco as they try to sort out their bad decision to deny Florida and Michigan votes at the convention.

Can you imagine if our party was in this kind of mess? We had a bunch of states that were getting 50% penalties for "going early" and Governor Romney was committed to getting them all seated in full. Now for the GOP it's a moot point. Unifying back in February really was the best way for the Republican party to be in a position to win in the Fall.

And the funniest part, to me, is that the Democrats have basically railroaded themselves into picking the weaker candidate, regardless of what the outcome of today's battle is. Hillary has always been stronger vs. McCain than Obama, and probably will still be in the polling in August if it polling both goes on that far.

No matter what happens in the democrat contest next week, I wouldn't count Hillary out. If the magic number changes to 2209.5 or anything more than what it's at 2025, then even with all the democrat pledged delegates it's very unlikely that Obama or Hillary becomes the "presumptive" nominee. Superdelegates probably won't come flooding in to end this next week to end it even though party leaders are begging them, and since they are as likely to change their mind like John Kerry, nobody knows till their convention who the real nominee is.

Again, thank goodness Governor Romney had the excellent judgement that spared us from a summer of pointless in-fighting. And please keep on fighting, Democrats! That McCain SNL skit was dang hilarious, and a subject for another post.
