>> Transcript from this morning's show 'Late Edition with Wolf Blitzer' via CQPoliticsFormer Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney told CNN's 'Late Edition' that Washington "got it right" by delaying giving any money until automakers showed they had a plan. He wrote in the New York Times last week that Congress should "let them go bankrupt."
He also said Washington needs to see "some new faces in management" to give them billions in loans, as well as concessions by labor and a reduction in the size of the dealer network. He called for ending the UAW jobs bank that allows some workers to continue to be paid without working.
"Government can't just write a big check to the same guys to do the same things," Romney said. "We should help them get on their feet and compete."
