Czar Romney?


Cesar Conda, former Romney advisor:
Would a government-appointed “auto industry czar” make any real difference? I would normally say “no,” unless that czar was former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who has outlined some tough love medicine for Detroit here. Before entering politics, Romney earned a reputation in the business world as a turnaround artist. Most importantly, the Michigan-native Romney has the auto industry in his bloodstream....

I don’t know if Governor Romney would have any interest in being the “car czar.” But if the Democratic-controlled Congress were to create such a position, then the former businessman and son-of-an-auto executive should be at the top of the list of candidates to fill it.
