Ok, ok, ok. This whole bailout of the big three automakers is making me nervous. I would feel a little better if Mitt were going to be at the helm.
Anyway, I was walking to work today thinking of the bailout and saw a sticker on a garbage can, it said "I voted for change". It was styled like the one shown here but in the past tense.
My first thought was, "you voted to change the garbage? good vote... you numb skull". Then I was thinking about this whole Illinois Governor Blagojevich thing and I went looking around the Internet in search of a sticker I had seen on campus. I found it here.
First, this kind of disgusts me as they already put him on a virtual coin. Then, I smiled. Considering that Chicago politics are renown for corruption and that Governor Blagojevich was caught trying to make extra money, and considering that Pres-Elect BO will likely put into place lots of bailouts and handouts , I was thinking that we could change the meaning of change. How about:
"I voted for change .... loose change"
Meaning... change for my pocket, whether I am part of the auto unions or a corrupt Chicago style politician looking to line my pockets. Yes, I am corrupt and I voted for change. (modifies the whole meaning of the slogan, don't you think?)After all of this, we are going to need Mitt well before 2012 to fix this mess. Given how the economic fears made people drop McCain for Obama, makes you wonder if the primaries would have been different if some of the economic issues would have come out 6 months earlier. We had the solution, most people were not aware of it.
So, if the Chicago style politics which will likely now infuse the White House. Is there enough change in your pocket to fund their change and put some change in their pockets as well? Makes you wonder if they will get enough change to also buy some of that hope they talk about.
...you can see me at my day job here ...

The problem is I think too many people are looking for that loose change that they don't have to work for. If only they realized how much they truly had to pay for a few cents.
'Tis the season to have a little jingle in your pocket...
I would like to see some more CHANGE even before January. Maybe Pres Biden?
