Bobby Jindal's speech last night was universally panned, even by the conservatives on Fox News's panel. Maybe buying all those ads to promote his response to the President's speech wasn't such a great idea.
Hume: “The speech read a lot better than it sounded. This was not Bobby Jindal’s greatest oratorical moment.”
Juan Williams noted something that I had picked up, especially in the beginning
Williams: “It came off as amateurish, and even the tempo in which he spoke was sing-songy. He was telling stories that seemed very simplistic and almost childish.”
The person that kept coming to mind as I watched? Jack McBrayer's character "Kenneth Parcells" on 30 Rock.
Now Jindal is a genuinely nice guy, and governing Louisiana well, but I'm not going to put him on my list of 2012 potential candidates with a shot at the Whitehouse.

OMG! What an embarrassment!! This looked like a parody -- the minute he opened his mouth, I thought I had accidentally tuned in to Sesame Street, hosted by Bobby Jindal. He should have begun by "Good Evening, boys and girls." You are exactly right .. singsongy, childish. I honestly couldn't watch the whole thing. And THIS is what Rush and everyone thinks is the next Republican Star .. pleeeze .. and on top of the shameless self-promotion .. wow!! I have nothing against Bobby -- I've thought with his background Romney-Jindal would be a good ticket, but with this kind of delivery .. no way! Sad thing is, though, that Romney et al will have to carry the water for him.
I agree with you Jeff. I decided not to pile on Jindal last night after I read through some of the comments by others. I started to feel bad for him. I was, however, disappointed in his speech, and the hype with the ads. I think he's a nice guy, but the GOP needs to stop putting out members who are not ready for prime time. Also - the photo I put on the blog of Mitt/Jindal was not endorsing a ticket, which I feel might have been seen as such. It was just a photo of the two of them together as they are both talked about as 2012 candidates. And I liked that Romney's name was on top!
I kept thinking of Forrest Gump myself....
Wow, I watched Jindal last night and was struck at how off, or over hyped, this guy is. I have seen some mild responses over the years, but this was a new low.
