Romney Strikes a Good Balance

From Alarming News Blog:

(re: Mitt's comments
"I also think it's important for us to nod to the president when he's right," Romney said, after chiding the president's budget. "He will not always be wrong, and he's done some things I agree with." )
I think he makes perfect sense, Limbaugh can say all he wants about his desire for Obama to fail, but serious politicians can't allow themselves that kind rhetoric. So Romney's remarks seem like a good balance, although I wish, like Allah, he would have at least alluded to Obama's meddling in GM as a bad thing. I typically agree with the official Alarming News line, that a candidate shouldn't try to be all things to all people (like McCain tried). I think conservatives can and will win on their conservative principles. However, I think this slight pandering to independents works in Romney's favor, although I hope it lessens as 2012 election gets closer and closer. Time will tell Go team Romney!

It takes Humility to actually admit or acknowledge when your opponents are right, especially politically speaking.

I heard Mitt say that he wished the President would have done the right thing months ago. We don't want to be like the Democrats who just hated Bush just because, even when he did the right thing.

There is no pandering here. It is who Mitt is....someone who has the strength of character to give credit where credit is due, regardless of what side of the isle they are on. It creates less division.

Mitt is right in saying what he said. If he was pandering, he would have been worried about what Rush and other powerful party voices would have thought about him saying that.
