Conservatives Get Relevant
They’re careful to say that it’s not a GOP only effort. Sound similar to the Tea Party movement? It does my heart good to see people getting all nonpartisan about the direction of our party. There is a distinct difference between “bipartisan” and “nonpartisan”. Bipartisan denotes a certain acknowledgment of partisanship on each side, and since they both have to compromise, no one really wins. A nonpartisan effort is a refreshing approach. It signals the GOP’s realization that they’ve dropped the ball, and paves the way for real change to occur. There seems to be a lessened dependence on the “party line” and a heightened focus on our best interests.
Maybe this is a chance to act on the momentum gained from all the grassroots activity we’re seeing right now among people who are fed up with the direction of our country. Giving us as conservatives the opportunity to be heard in a small forum atmosphere could be the first step in recovery for the GOP–if they choose to listen.
