Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison announced that she was joining such prominent Republican leaders as Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, and Republican Whip Eric Cantor in joining the National Council for a New America.
“After two consecutive election cycles in which Republican candidates, from the top of the ticket to the bottom, suffered setbacks because our message was out of touch with the concerns of voters, we need to come together as a party to rebuild and begin a dialogue with voters about our principles and the issues they’re facing everyday,” said Sen. Hutchison. “We as Republicans need to show the nation that we have better alternatives to Democratic proposals, and that we understand the very real challenges families are facing during these tough economic times.”
