Read about conservatives' reactions to allegations that Thompson once lobbied for an abortion rights group. Though these Fred fans are ignoring the obvious (at the very least the plausible), the scrutiny will eventually catch up with him.I've bought into David French's theory: when the rubber hits the road, Fred will begin to struggle.
After all, campaining is hard work. And for years, Thompson has been criticized for his weak, Hollywood work ethic. We'll see how things hold together over the next few months.
