Nice story by Dean Barnett (a Romney guy) at Townhall.com. He answers 14 questions. I'll only copy a few of them.
8) Back to your guy: Are you concerned about Mitt dropping a few points behind McCain in the latest Rasmussen poll?
Mitt’s strategy all along has been to win the early states and trampoline to victory. He’s still on track in the early states. Obviously, I’d rather he be the one pulling the 28% in that national poll than Fred, but that’s not the case.
9) Has Fred stolen support from Mitt?
Yes. And Rudy. Rudy’s below 20% for the first time ever in the Rasmussen numbers. Having a new frontrunner taking up a huge chunk of support will have a detrimental effect on the other guys’ numbers.
10) So is it Fred’s campaign to lose?
I wouldn’t go that far. What I’ve been saying for months is that if Fred’s got game, he’s going to be tough to beat. The same still applies.
11) Does he have game?
Why do you care what I think? He’ll be on the trail now. He’ll be making public statements. He’ll be appearing in the debates. Whether or not he has game will be self-evident in a few weeks time. If he’s got game, then there’s a really good chance he’ll be my nominee and I’ll support him enthusiastically. If he doesn’t have game, it will come down to Mitt vs. Rudy.
12) As a Romney media surrogate, do you feel some duty to tear Fred down?
No. And I also don’t feel the need to report every bad review Fred gets or every boneheaded comment he makes. Everyone reading this site is by definition a high level news gatherer. You’ll get everything you need to make up your minds on Fred without my guidance.
We'll see how Fred does and how the public responds.

I read this and thought it was very classy of Dean.
He is obviously confident of his candidate, Mitt Romney, as I am.
There is no need to attack others.
Although -- I still can't figure out the support for Fred Thompson.
Maybe it will become clear to me someday.
In the meantime, go MITT!
