Taking a break from the election, which is driving me mad. Read the story here.
Mormon Pride and Anxiety Over Romney’s Bid
Joseph Doria, 39, and Jeff Magee, 34, are neighbors in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., friends and fellow Mormons. But get them talking about the presidential candidacy of Mitt Romney, and the similarities stop.
As you probably guessed, Jeff is proud of Mitt. Joseph, his fellow Mormon, is the anxious one.
Mr. Magee said he does not have a problem with Mr. Romney’s evolving views on issues like abortion because he sees the former governor as the only candidate who is truly a conservative. “Romney is very Reaganesque,” said Mr. Magee, an engineer who volunteered for Mr. Romney by knocking on doors and making phone calls in Iowa and New Hampshire. “I know that he’s coming around the right way, and he’s being consistent about that progress toward a more conservative platform.”
Jeff does a fine job defending and promoting Mitt.
