Nealie Ride's post about Huckabee's negative campaigning brings out a method he's used thruout the campaign. The Huckster enjoys having other people do his dirty work. He's also taken advantage of other people's money spent on his campaign's behalf.
When Huckelberry brags about how he gets 3rd or 4th place while being outspent 20-1, remember he's being loose with the facts. His 527 groups and other affiliates are spending plenty on his behalf. Yet the media lets him get away his over the top claims that his success is something akin to a biblical miracle. Not so. "Facts are stubborn things" as Mitt said and I'll add my follow on again "looks like the media is even more stubborn."
Huckabee has said he's not in favor of the negative campaigning on his behalf, but up to know there's always been that *wink* *wink* that indicated he wasn't being sincere. Maybe his tune is going to change and he'll be all in favor of it now, standing by smiling while he had Chuckabee Noris make attacks on McCain. But if the Huckster half heartedly says he's opposed to negative push polls being done for him, hopefully he'll be forced to do someting like this:
Sure, the Huckabee campaign says they don't support this, and they're calling on it to stop. But let's see some anger. Let's have Huckabee call up Davis, the guy who's doing this and say, "stop it, you're hurting my campaign." Come on out and denounce Davis as a mudslinging slime merchant who's manufacturing cynicism on a grand scale. (They're saying they'll make a million calls in South Carolina!) The governor's a good wordsmith, I'm sure he can put it even better than that. Let's see some fire and brimstone. Tepid words to the Associated Press aren't going to deter Davis.
PS. Gotta welcome new author Jenn to the blog. Thanks for all those tips you've sent previously, looking forward to seeing more of your posts!
