New York Conservative Party for Mitt?

Fred Thompson did not achieve what was expected of him in South Carolina tonight.

I've been told that that was the criteria for the Conservative Party of New York to officially endorse Thompson. We have 5 "official" parties in the New York, which can cross-endorse another party's candidate. Now the CPoNY is on the verge of throwing their support to Mitt.

Mike Long, the state chairman, has made statements that he's eager to get in the game. I know he's being encouraged by grassroots Conservative Party members to get on board with Romney.

We might hear something major on this in the week ahead. And if you're a Mitt fan with any Mike Long connections, I'd recommend you give him some encouragement. The conservatives do not want Rudy Giuliani to win New York's primary, much less the nomination. If Mike Long is serious about championing conservative causes, he needs to endorse Mitt Romney.
