Romney character continues to astound me

So, Romney's still in it to win it. He's staying with it, and from what I read, it doesn't sound like this is an empty show of plodding along out of futile stubbornness. He's really intending to compete all the way to the convention and then win.

This amazes me!

The man is truly someone to be admired and a role model for America. He reminds me of Invictus by the poet Henley:

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of Circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of Chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

I suppose it's easy to be inspiring and presidential when everything plays right into your hands. But when the chips are down and things go south fast, the true role model is the one who remembers that he's in it for principle. And those principles that motivate him haven't gone anywhere.

So, neither will I! I'm looking forward to supporting Mitt's candidacy through to November. As his son Tagg said, "We're not going to project when it is we’re going to quit, because we're not planning on quitting."
