Mitt Romney and Ronald Reagan

Why does Romney keep going when the media and pundits tell everyone McCain is going to be the nominee and the odds of stoping the liberal media's favorite anti-conservative are insurmountable?

Because Ronald Reagan did. Twice!

  • In 1968, Ronald Reagan and other candidates allied against Richard Nixon (a mentor to McCain in dirty campaign tricks) went all the way to the convention.
  • In 1976, Ronald Reagan went against incumbent Gerald Ford (Nixon's VP) and although he had a slow start in early primaries, he turned it around and held Ford short of the majority for the nomination.

In both those years there was a convention battle about the direction the party should take.

It wasn't until the Republican party realized that Reagan's conservatism and optimism was what was best for our country that our country was transformed for the better and freedom oppresing nations like the Soviet Union were defeated.

So while it looks like Republicans could be stuck with another uninspring and divisive candidate to take on a fired up Democrat, there's still a majority of delegates that have not been chosen! McCain's nomination is far from certain.

Let's keep this battle going in 2008 like Ronald Reagan did and get the McCain delegates to change their votes. They need to understand if the GOP is going to win and fix the problems in Washington, we need to have a candidate who's not a Washington insider! We need to nominate Governor Mitt Romney!!!
