If this doesn't do it, Nothing Will

I've heard these rumors from different political operatives for weeks, that there's going to be another major video hitting YouTube pegging Obama as way too close to people who are, well, I'll be charitable and say less tolerant of people not of their race.

So the buzz is that this next video isn't a pastor, or someone who lives in Obama's neighborhood, or a classmate from when he was 8 years old when he lived in Indonesia... it's someone much closer to him and much more significant.

This some people said was being held back until the General Election, the classic "October Surprise" that gets dropped the weekend before the vote. And it's hard to figure out who's really behind this operationally. It could be Clinton, it could be offended friends of Obama from his church. It's probably not Republicans because it's pretty clear that McCain has the best shot to defeat him and they don't want to get in the way of his nomination.

Exactly what the video contains, I can't say. Just that I hear that if this doesn't get Democrats to drop Obama like a radioactive candidate, nothing will. The video is now with the TV networks and supposed to go live in the morning.

Monday Followup: Apparently not. Only the descriptions of what the video contains from people who have seen is circulating so far. Roger Stone (a GOP strategist) and Larry Johnson (a Democrat strategist) both describe it the same way. Larry and his No Quarter blog seem to be stridently pro-Hillary. Lots of his bloggers were kicked off another leftwing blog for their exposing of Obama's weaknesses.

"The Tape," from the descriptions, is apparently a panel discussion at Obama's church of 20 years, featuring Michelle Obama sharing her feelings about "Whitey" with Nation of Islam leader/founder Louis Farrakahn.

Anyway, we'll see what happens. It's a long summer before the conventions and anything could happen. There's plenty more dirt on Obama and his activities in Chicago politics that won't enhance his stature at all with the independent voters, and would make Democrats want to change their votes if they could. The MSM sure seems to like to wait until the nominee is decided before the stories they have in the hopper are ready to hit the airwarves. Just like the NY Times did with the GOP.
