Couple of Romney Reports

Thanks for the update from our 'teammate' JD @ JD for Mitt

From Michael Sneed at Chicago Sun-Times:

Former conservative GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, a wealthy businessman, didn't hire movers a few weeks ago after selling his house in Utah and moving its contents to California.

• • The upshot: A source tells Sneed that Romney, who is eyeing another presidential bid, loaded a moving van with the help of his sons -- and drove it to his new home in Southern California.

Romney Report II . . . Sneed is told Romney, who helped lure the 2002 Winter Olympics to Salt Lake City, phoned Chicago Olympic chief Pat Ryan on Tuesday to offer encouragement and help.

• • Let's hope: "Romney is convinced Chicago will get the 2016 games," the source added. He was in town for a fund-raiser for pal/ state Rep. Dan Rutherford (R-Pontiac), who's eyeing a bid for treasurer.

Also, yesterday:

Romney, who was in Salt Lake City on Tuesday to campaign for Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, said what's important to him now are the upcoming congressional elections.

"When you're in the minority, you band together and you work for those races," he told the Deseret News. "That's what I'm doing."

and Boston Herald: MR visits Utah to give Sen. Bennett a boost
The endorsement from Romney, a presidential hopeful in the last election, is expected to provide a significant boost for Bennett. Romney won the state’s presidential primary with 90 percent of the vote and he’s still highly popular here.
